Mandate that services automatically issue refunds based on user data
Services automatically compensate consumers if the performance of a service is below the expected level. This gives consumers value for money and eases the process of getting compensation.
- United Kingdom: Although not legally required to do so, some private transportation providers like Virgin Trains have an automatic compensation system for delayed services. Transport for London, a public transportation authority, issues automatic refunds for contactless payment users who complete their journey with the wrong card.
- Companies may choose to base refunds on something that doesn’t strongly relate to poor customer experience.
